Hi,

I'm interested in your forum hosting service. I would like to create a forum for my community. I want a paid membership system, where: To access the content and create new content(topics, comments, etc.), a monthly premium subscription is needed. I also want the ability to manually grant permanent premium status to certain registered users including my account of course. If a user does not have paid membership, then they cannot view the forum content. Can all this be implemented on this platform? Also, does this platform support the Hungarian language and characters? Can my community members set the language of this platform to Hungarian?

In the "Promotion Text Link" of createaforum.com the following feature is mentioned:

"Paid membership support turn your forum into a money making machine."

Just to clarify, do you actually support paid membership?
If yes, what payment options can my community members use to pay for the monthly premium membership? After a user pays for it, is the premium membership status automatically activated, granting full access to the forum?

Kitti,

Just my two cents worth but recommend not utilizing the option to access your forum by way of a membership fee. Rather, let folks join up, participate, find value in the forum content for free. I have found that just adding a PayPal donation button/tab to my forum has shown good results.

If the forum is moderated nicely with lots of relevant and interesting content, in time, members will show financial support.

China and Hong Kong blocked again bots are just too bad... and too many ip ranges which don't make it easy to block at all.
Disappointing for sure but do appreciate you having given it a whirl.

All good, no problems for both my forums.

I will let China, Hong Kong and Signapore back on and see how it goes next couple of days but if they overload the services I will be forced to block again...

Awesome ! Thank you for giving it a try. We truly appreciate it.

So, I am trying to wrap my head around this.  :-\

Are forums that were created by people who live in the countries listed above, now all inaccessible to the admins and their forum members within those countries?

I would say in the last month or so.
I would suggest a VPN for them.

No all other blocking methods failed us unfortunately we were blocking 10's of thousands of ips and the forums would become unusable due to bad bots.
What is VPN so I can pass that along to the current members I am losing?

Not sure how to let future potential members from these regions know about it since they cannot even view either forum to register for membership. I will have to figure some creative way around that.  :-\

This is just so very disappointing, as both my forums are about Chinese antiques that attract people from China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Those two countries combined with Hong Kong is about 20% of the world population that after about 15 years of having one of two forums up and running will lose current members and will also miss out on future ones.

I have no doubt you have done what you can, but picture me down on both knees, yes, begging for a solution  ;D

Not just for me but for everyone else, that depending on the subject matter and content of their forums are in the same boat. This is a huge loss.

As always, I really do appreciate everything you do for all of us admins.  :)

The following countries are blocked due to bad bots:

China
Hong Kong
Singapore
Russia
North Korea

This must have happened recently as the members living in China, Hong Kong and Singapore have not had this problem until recently.

So, these members will no longer be able to participate on the forum?

Do you have any alternative approaches or methods available for detecting and blocking bad bots? A fix??

Not sure if it makes a difference that the members having a problem are out of country (China). When trying to access the forum they are getting a "Can't reach this page" error and asked to refresh. Despite refreshing the page several times, the error message persists.

I am also occasionally experiencing the same, but the error page only lasts a couple of seconds, refreshes on it's own and then all is good.

Went to the forum and there was an extra large add taking up a gigantic amount of space at the top of the pages.  So I paid for some add free credits to get rid of it.. But now there is  this odd white block of space running across the top was not there before.

Also, the CreateAForum info like, "report abuse", "RSS", "forum upgrades" links that use to be at the bottom of the forum are now suddenly at the top.. Can those links be moved back out of the way to the bottom of the forum like it was, and also remove that weird white block of space that is running across the top of all the page that was not there before ?

Well that whole idea was a waste of time.. Just found this for bypassing

"If your only intention is to copy text from a website that is blocking it, then you don’t need to disable anything. Just press “Ctrl + P” to open printing options and copy text from the print preview. Alternatively, you can press “Ctrl + U” to access a web page’s source code to look for the required text (Browser’s “Find” [Ctrl + F] option will help)."

For anyone interested. This code placed in header blocks all right click abilities.

Text is protected, and also the ability to inspect or view page source info.  At least I do not know if there is a way someone can get around this block to view and inspect page source.  If someone knows a way to get around the blocking of right clicks to view and inspect page source, please let me know..

I mainly want to protect all my text information from being copied. The downside is that it also removes the ability to right click and open a page into a second browser so that you do not loose the page your on, which is how I enjoy navigating any website.  But guess that is part of the trade off..

If I am missing something ?  Like if someone knows of a keyboard command or some other method people can use to over ride this blocking of right clicks, or being able to get around it to inspect and view page source, please let me know.  Because if I am wasting my time with this, I would remove it.

Any help or additional information greatly appreciated.
