It would be good if every URL I try to post would always show up on one line. It would be even better if that line could show as little code as possible but still be clickable.

Would this be possible?

Some URL links show up as 6 lines long or longer.

Some message boards automatically shorten long URLs when a poster inserts a link in a post. Is there a way to make this happen on my message board? It is:

I use tinyurl but it is inconvenient, and there may be other problems with using URL shortening Websites like tinyurl and bitly.

I'd welcome any help you can give.

Unfortunately several days later, I'm still seeing ads on the forum, and I still have 0 adfree credits showing at the top left. Looks as if the adfree status didn't got through for some reason.

A day ago I renewed Adfree for a monthly charge, using PayPal. I have not yet seen my Adfree credits showing up on my MS Speaks createaforum.  How long is this going to take?

Also, in the past I start out with thousands of Adfree credits but they are used up after about 10 days, and for the rest of that month the ads show up. Is there a reason why they are used up so fast? It is not a very active forum.

I've had a createaforum board for years and noticed that usually the number of Users Online is probably an accurate indication but occasionally there would be several hundred users online for no known reason. I assumed they were bogus "users" (bots?) since there wasn't a noticeable increase in posts or replies.

However, in recent weeks there has been a ridiculous number of users showing up online (just now you can see that on Aug. 14 there were over 6,000). In an attempt at stemming the flow, I signed up for Adfree Credits again after letting that lapse for a couple of years.

The number of online users is back to normal now but the Adfree Credits are decreasing very rapidly. I believe I began with about 29,000 of them a couple of days ago. Now it is already down to 21,098--and so about 8,000 have been used up in a couple of days? 

I'm not sure how Adfree Credits are calculated but at this rate I will run out of them before the monthly subscription expires.

MS Speaks began nearly 10 years ago as a message board. It has been a Createaforum board since 2013. It is meant for persons with multiple sclerosis or for anyone with an interest in MS. New members are always welcome.

I see no point in starting a new thread on this topic. I have read your post about the censoring and was unable to figure out how to send a message to Createaforum as advised in your post, since the person who posted the post (Alex) appears not to have been here for many months and might not get it.


The word "therapeutic" keeps getting censored on my board:

The letters r-a-p-e are the problem. I don't know about the word grape but we'll see in this post.


Is there a way I can override the censor, aside from paying to get rid of the ads?

General Support / Problem with posting quoted material

Posting wasn't a problem on http://msspeaks.createaforum.com until yesterday. Suddenly a problem has developed.


When using the quoted material (with the "quote" icon),
I copy and paste material and put it in quotes in a post on my board but now what is copied is exactly as it appeared in the original--photos and links and different fonts, etc.  I take all of these features out, and still bits of unneeded code are sprinkled among the resulting post. 


I have to take every one of them out--and even then the spacing between lines isn't working right.


Is there a setting somewhere that I should change?


EDITED TO ADD: I've disabled the WSIWYG editor and that seems to have fixed the problem so far as I'm concerned. Please advise if I should not have done that.

I've found that the word ma*ijua*a gets bleeped out every time it's used in a post on my board. This is a support forum for persons with a chronic neurological disorder where medical ma*ijua*a is often discussed.  There are work-arounds for this but it would be better if the word wasn't censored. Is there any way to stop the censoring?


You've stated that there isn't, but maybe the situation has changed with the passage of time?

My forum has existed since May 2006--so it's really  over 7 years old, but I  switched it over to createaforum only a month ago. The older board is incorporated into the newer one using links.


It's a support and information forum for persons with multiple sclerosis.

General Support / How to get rid of visible e-mail addresses?

there seems to be no way of removing the envelope icon at the left of everybody's posts. Clicking on that icon leads directly to the person's e-mail even though the user has opted not to make his/her e-mail available. I have tried everything I could find in the Admin section to keep these e-mail addresses from showing but they keep showing up.


I'd appreciate any help.

I'm new here but not new to message boards. Often there's some indication about the maximum number of PMs we're allowed to store. I can't find that anywhere here. Could someone please help? I've looked over the support board posts for quite a while and done a search but no luck.
