How to make your forum popular

Couple of ways I made my forum popular.


First you have your forum, starting off as a small community. Well if your friends and/or family joined it, just tell them to advertise it and say good comments about it. If that doesn't work, you'll think you're out of luck; but guess what, you're not! That's not the only way to get it big. Make a Twitter page of it and send links out to random people about your forum, and if they're interested, they'll join and tell there friends about it. As your forum is growing, make a Facebook page. Cite your forum link in the "about you part".

I believe there's only one way to grow your forum, and that's by thinking!
 Your brain is your forum's greatest asset, just take out say 30 minutes and ask yourself
 how can I get more members?
 How can I build a close community?
How can I get the members to return after they join?
etc.
 Depending on what type of forum you have, you should be able to get new ideas after THINKING REALLY HARD.
 It dosen't have to be conventional.
 A facebook page would do fine, and a twitter page.
 Now, suppose there are small fb groups that have the same identity as your forums, you could message the admin to partner with you. Chances are that he might invite members of the group to your forum. Advertise in fb groups. Email webmasters for backlinks. Advertise in these support forums. I notice some members of this support forum in my forum. Thanks!

 Don't stop thinking. Newsletters similar to what fb give as email notifications could help members remember and return to your site. Make your forums userfriendly. Create interesting discussion topics, etc etc.

In my opinion, everyone should use themselves as examples. You joined this forum to get support right? So to you, this forum has a purpose and is important to you if you need help so you will visit it. Now ask yourself why would you join your forum? What makes you want to come back again? Do you have lots of friends in it? Are the topics in there interesting to read and discuss?
