Be able to install plugins for SMF

Be able to install plugins for SMF  like Awards, would be a really great feature

Plugin installation won't happen since it would affect all boards that are hosted here. We have developed some of the popluar adddons and they are apart of Create A Forum

isn't there a way for it to be in the core features, like turn on/off ? or some kind of awards feature you could implement?

Could be but I would have to build my own awards system.

This is the awards system i want: you could install this on the servers as an option, people just dont give out awards, i think it will work very well in all forums and people will love it.

There are few alternatives such as setting custom profile fields where only admins can edit or you can use codes to have an award system.

It's not too complicated MC, i'll try to see how to do it on this service.

On CAF, CreateAForum prefers to use only modifications that he has designed, because those are easier for him to modify for use on a mass server, and easier for him to update when he updates the software here.

To make an awards system:

Admin>CP>Features and Options>Profile Fields.
From here, add a new field for user awards, check "Show on topic view", and make the placement "With Icons".
Input Settings: Text
Max length: (any number you want so long as you can do what you want with it.)
Check "Allow BBC?"

Make it so that users can see, but only admins (or owner) can modify the field.

You can then give users awards in the form of images by adding the images in  the BBC image tags under that users Profile>Forum profile.

Cool thanks allot, but do you ever think we could get a proper awards mod, im not that bothered but it would be really cool, plus can the pictures be in banners? like the ones on the link i posted?

I looked at that mod and i'm not quite sure what banners you're talking about? Anyhow, like I already stated, we probably won't have a modification like that available to us unless CAF creates it, as he likes to be the one who creates the addons used here.
