Guides and Tutorials / [Guide] How to get a Favicon
« on: October 10, 2012, 10:12:42 pm »
The image should be 16x16 pixels
The image can be .gif, .png or .ico   (preferably .ico named favicon.ico)

1.  If using an .ico file name it favicon.ico
It will show up in all browsers with no problems
     Put this in your HEADER:

Code: [Select]
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="image url" type="image/x-icon" />

Replace image url with the url of the favicon.ico

2.  If you use a .gif or .png image you need to use both of the codes below in order for it to show up in all browsers.

Code: [Select]

<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="image url" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="image url" type="image/x-icon">

replace image url with the url of your image
Where it says image/png -   leave it as image/png for a .png file.  Change it to image/gif if your image is a .gif.

Guides and Tutorials / [Guide] Twitter/FB Post Topic Settings
« on: October 08, 2012, 07:06:12 pm »
Twitter Topic Settings

When new topics are posted in specific boards, they will automatically post to your Twitter account after this is enabled.

The settings can be found by going to Administration Center > Twitter Topic Settings

Click the button

There will then be this page, where your Twitter username and password must be entered:

After the details are entered, you will be taken back to the Settings page of Twitter Topics.

Next is specifying the boards that you want to tweet about. When new topics are posted in these boards there will be a new tweet posted to the Twitter account you just authorized.

Creating the new topic:

The new topic being tweeted:

FB Post Topic Settings

The same method is used for posting topics to your Facebook profile or Page. Be sure to allow all permissions when the Create A Forum app requests permissions.

Guides and Tutorials / [Guide] Badge Awards System
« on: October 08, 2012, 06:39:50 pm »
The Badge Awards system gives users awards for meeting certain expectations.

The settings can be found by going to the Administration Panel > Badge Awards

Settings
The Settings tab is for the overall configuration of the system:

Show in Posts: This will show badges members have earned, as seen below:

Show total badges in posts: This will show the number of awards members have in posts.

Number of Badges in Posts: This is the maximum number of badges that will appear in posts.

The other settings under this category should be self-explanatory.

Badge List
From here you can configure the list of Badges and how you want them to be. By default there are several pages of them that you can modify. If you'd like to add your own, click the Add Badge tab located above the list of badges.

Give Badge
If you'd like to give a badge manually instead of waiting for it to happen by a certain criteria being met, you can do so here.

Member Badge History
This page will show all of the awards that have been handed out to members.

Rebadge Members
This tab will simply redirect you to the Badge List page.

Members current awards can be seen by going to their profile > Badges (under Modify Profile)

They won't magically change. I haven't done them yet. I'll give you the new links when I've resized them. It's gonna be hard to make them all the same size.

The SMF Gallery ezBlock will show a random image from the gallery in a block.

For linking to the gallery, put the title you would like to show first. Then, mouseover the title and click the insert/edit link button. Put in the link to the Gallery there.

Are you just trying to create a LINK to the gallery or are you trying to get an image to show?

Guides and Tutorials / [Guide] Admin CP Arcade Section
« on: October 05, 2012, 04:05:23 pm »
The arcade can be enabled by going to Admin > Core Features, scroll down to the very bottom until this icon is seen:

Click the power button on the right side of it to enable it.

There is now a new Arcade category section on the left side of the Administration Center:

When accessing the General link for the first time, you will need to click the Install and Enable Arcade button. After doing so, all the features of the Arcade will be enabled. Visit the links under the Arcade category again.

The General section is just for general settings, such as arenas, comments, cheating check, and how many games show per page.

The Games section is for adding games that are ready to be installed. You can not install your own games - you can only use games that are built into the Arcade already.

The Categories section lets you organize games into certain categories. When visiting it for the first time, all that's seen is "1". Clicking the New tab will let you create more categories and optionally set custom permissions for that category.

The Maintenance section lets you clear the data currently stored in the Arcade. If you are experiencing slow loading or errors, this is the place to go. This section also lets you prune current high scores.

To move a board, click Move link under the Modify Boards page

Yes, there is an ezGallery ezBlock under Admin > ezBlock Manager

Like, I'm a mod and I don't like the admin, so I ban them.

lol the admin has more power than a moderator. Admins have protection from getting banned by a moderator.

This rest of this just doesn't seem possible.
