General Support / Re: How do I disable the display of social icons?
« on: September 10, 2019, 08:25:25 pm »
1. Admin tab
2. On the Sidebar go down to Forum and click on Posts and Topics
3. On Post Settings (content panel) untick the option Hide Social Icon in the first post of a topic.

I did not want it either, it was a private forum.

I think the count-based groups are conspiring on the permissions. Isnīt there a way to keep count-based "levels" without having inference on permissions?

I want to restrict access to a given board based on Member Group permission. How can I do that?

General Support / How can I disable registrations?
« on: September 07, 2019, 10:33:13 pm »
I need to make my forum PRIVATE, in other words only ADMIN can register users entering their data. After that they MAY receive a confirmation/activation email.

My board has 3 forums, One can be seen by ALL registered members, The other two depends on GROUP MEMBERSHIP. That is how I configured the forum.

In the setings I DISABLED registration with social accounts. I think there was a setting for disabling registrations but that is NOT working. I just registered to my forum with another account. First I was surprised that the Registration link was present. I thought maybe it would give a message at the end but WRONG! not only was I able to register, with my new credentials that did not belong to any of the two member groups (just default), I was able to VIEW and EXPLORE ALL the subforums of my site even though the new user had not been assigned to the special member groups.

This is my forum:
    Board #1: General Discussion
    Board #2: Owners
    Board #3: Administering Commitee

All users registered by ADMIN should be able to participate in Board #1 as they belong to the general/default permissions.
Users that have been assigned to the Owners member group, should have access to Board #1 and #2.
Users that have been assigned to Administering Commitee should have access to Board #1 and #3 and possibly #2 if they are also members of the Owners member group.

That is how I configured the forum. Yet, with the new user (anyone from internet) that has default permissions, I was able to apparently get permissions of ALL member groups!
