Some kind soul started a message on my forum "Re: Sale thrashing and now its official. We are simply s***t"

Before I knew it there were 2 pages of replies all quoting the same heading.
I fixed the first message, so the word no longer appears in the message list, and I fixed the last, so all future messages don't propagate it, however I really don't want to go edit 20 odd messages by hand to get rid of the thing entirely.

Could it be possible/desirable even that if an Admin changes the header of the first message it propagates through all of them?

That worked, thank you so much. For some reason in windows/chrome clearing the cache didn't work, but Ctrl-F5 on the actual page did. It worked fine on my Sony android phone.

Have I perhaps reported this in the wrong forum?
Is that why I'm not getting a response?

Brilliant! The swift response to issues is one of the reasons we moved our forum here. Thank you.

Is there any news on this? Is it unique to my forum?

People are now claiming that it is the "/" on the end of https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion/ that is causing the problem.
They claim https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion gives no issue.

Can that possibly be true? I've given a couple of links myself without the "/" on the end, but can I remove it from the ComeAllWithinForum page (the bit where you choose your board)

If you use the mobile theme

then when you press the ">" button on the right hand side for the latest post, you don't get it, just the first post in the thread.

Looking at the underlying URL it looks like

https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion/white-outs/msg14836/#new#new

The extra "#new" on the end seems to be the culprit.

It's always when attempting to go to the https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion page. No other page has been reported.

I changed it originally to make the colours more "Harlequins", but I've made no changes to the headers/footers or layout in months. I occasionally change the .jpg displayed for the forum but that's it. As I said, I turned off the headers/footers and the problem was still there.

Someone suggested that it might be something malformed in the advert stream, which is why I wasn't getting the issue using edge but was using chrome.  Someone else said, not surprisingly, they weren't getting the issue when using the WAP version. But if it was the advert stream, surely more people would be complaining?

I have been unable to make to make this reproducible on demand, and I know that's the first step to being able to solve an IT support problem.

Right now, as far as I'm concerned, there is no problem, I refresh the page over and over and every time it works perfectly. I'll try and check it tomorrow against number of people using the site and see if there's any correlation.

Sorry, i know that's not a huge amount of help. but I'll keep trying to find what happens when we get this.

Thanks.

You misunderstand. Blur is not an ad blocker. It is a password manager that is somehow being detected as an ad blocker.

I commented out all my headers and footers on the site and am still getting the problem.
I haven't changed the layout in months, and we never used to see this problem.

One of the people on my site, who understands these things better than me, sent me this information (but it means nothing to me)
Firefox 64.0 on Ubuntu Linux

Clicked on bookmark (https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion/) with F12 developer panel running. Got white-out.

Request URL: https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion/
Request method: GET
Remote address: 64.79.105.131:443
Status code: 200
Version: HTTP/2.0

With disable cache option still white-outs.

Getting reports of white outs on my forum https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion/white-outs/
Not suffering them myself so don't even know what it means.

Possibly linked to this report https://support.createaforum.com/8/blank-white-pages-instead-of-post/

The only helpful comment was

I've noticed when the white outs happen and you try and reload the page that at the bottom left of the screen it seems to have something to do with "bigestsafe.com" - which I've Google searched and lots of Malware related search results come back. The line I get is often: "Waiting for bigestsafe.com".

I post quite a few links of interesting rugby stuff.
A number of times people have come back and said "that link didn't work"
When I re-test the link it works fine but people swear it doesn't work for them

See https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/general-discussion/the-beast-has-shown-kyle-sinckler-the-route-to-the-top/msg4525/#msg4525
(assuming the link workssupport)

Obviously since the link works for me, I'm a bit stuck as to how to fix this.

Edit

And low and behold, just happened to me. I get it when I click on https://tinyurl.com/ydz6hul2 which is supposed to just be a link to

At work I'm using a Microsoft Surface Pro and Internet Explorer. I can try Chrome if you like?

I have just tried on my mobile, which is a Huawei (an Android) and the Sinckler link doesn't work on that either. I use Chrome on my phone.

I'll try chrome now on my surface pro and let you know if it works
