OK, I have played around a bit more and have managed to answer my own question - have been so used to restrictive blogs and other platforms that I'm not used to having all these extra options available to individualise it! Thanks all for your patience and help...

I realise that it is only for the specific board - what are the pre-determined moderator privileges? Is it just the option to delete or modify a post?

Thanks Andrew - so if you make someone a moderator and they don't have access to the Moderation Centre what can actually do that they couldn't already do as a member - just delete or modify posts?

I am thinking about having a couple of my members also acting as Moderators on a specific board on my forum. If I install someone as a moderator, will all posts to this board have to be approved through the Moderation Centre? or does making someone a Moderator only give them access to review post through the Mod Centre as well as Add / Modify posts?

Thanks for letting me know - aside from sending a separate email with the correct link, is there anyway around this that you could propose?

As my forum is a private board, as the administrator, I register each member individually (Members / Registration). During this process, I make sure that the "Email new password to user" is checked so these members will be able to log in straight away (as I am dealing with users that are not particularly computer literate I need to make this registration process as simple as possible). The email they then receive reads:

I would like to change the text for this email so it includes a link directly to our forum - is this possible?
