General Support / YouTube
« on: April 23, 2020, 09:07:57 am »
Is there a way to simply show the YouTube url instead of a large picture-style image? It takes up so much room, and on tablets, stretches out the page. I have the "Embed Flash into posts" box un-ticked, but this doesn't stop it appearing as a picture. I am sure there is a way, but I have trawled through the many headings in Admin and can't find it!

General Support / Forum says 'You are Banned'
« on: April 19, 2020, 09:58:08 am »
One of our members cannot log in, he gets a 'You are Banned' message. He has emailed me for help and I have looked at the ban list in admin, but his username isn't there. I certainly haven't banned him, so I can't un-ban him! I can't see that it is a problem with his computer and wonder if you have any ideas or how we can get him back on the forum. Any help would be appreciated.

In spite of Forum use SSL being checked, I no longer have the padlock symbol and it says Not secure in the address bar. Can you throw some light on this, please?

Is it possible to disable the PM system? I have searched but can find no way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

General Support / Long urls
« on: November 22, 2017, 10:54:49 am »
Many forums automatically shorten a lengthy url. Is there a way we can? For example, I had my forum set at 70% width, but when someone posts a lengthy url, it stretches the posts out wide. I have reverted to 100% width which has stopped this happening, as obviously the page is at full stretch already. I have suggested that people either embed the url or use tinyurl - but they don't! Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

General Support / Attachment capacity

Am I right in thinking that it is only avatars and photos uploaded via the attachment facility that add to the space available? If a photo is uploaded to a post by, say, tinypic, then that doesn't take up any forum space.

My PayPal standing order for 50,000 ad-free credits has been paid on the 26th October, but the credits have not yet been added. I would be grateful if you could ad them, please.

General Support / Still having problems....
« on: September 27, 2016, 02:06:11 pm »
I thought I'd try a subscription for 50,000 ad-free credits a month - bearing in mind they never automatically appeared before! It seems they still don't. I would be grateful if you could once again sort this out for me, please. I imagine I will have to order them as and when as then they always appear immediately I have paid for them. It is just a more expensive way of buying credits, though.

Your help would be appreciated. My email confirmation is below:

General Support / Ad-free monthly subscriptions
« on: June 30, 2016, 01:13:12 pm »
Once again my ad-free credits haven't been added in spite of going out of my PayPal account on the 23rd June. I would again be grateful if you could look into this for me. I will have to cancel this standing order and just buy them as and when necessary in the future.

Thanks in anticipation.

General Support / Ad-free monthly subscriptions
« on: May 28, 2016, 08:49:05 am »
I pay for my ad-free with a monthly subscription (via PayPal). This months subscription went out of my account on the 23rd of May - but the credits haven't been added yet. Every month you kindly sort this out for me as they never appear, but why don't they get added when the money goes out? If I pay for a one-off number of credits they appear immediately.

I would be grateful, once again, if you could help with this.

General Support / Unable to "Quote"
« on: May 02, 2016, 03:11:18 pm »
Some of our members are unable to use the Quote button. They either get a "Loading" sign or nothing happens at all. I have spent ages trying to fathom this out without success. Any assistance would be welcomed! To further mystify it, I "joined" my forum as another username, and I can't use the quote button as this "person", either!  ???

General Support / Ad-free subscription

I paid for a 50,000 ad-free credits monthly subscription yesterday, cancelling my 25,000 one as these are being gobbled up like nobody's business! However, they have not been added yet. Your help would be appreciated.

General Support / Ad-free Credits Subscription
« on: April 13, 2016, 08:09:10 am »
I have subscribed to 25,000 ad-free credits a month, and paid by PayPal on the 10th April. I have had the PayPal receipt/acknowledgement. The payment has gone through, but no credits have been added. I emailed VisualBasicZone and had a one-word reply, "added".

They haven't been added and I have 0 Ad-free credits showing on the forum page. When I have bought a one-off purchase in the past they have been added almost immediately. I am wondering why they haven't been added yet.

Can you help, please?

Is there a way of disabling these post ratings recently introduced? Several of our members don't like them. Your help would be appreciated.

General Support / Ad-free Credits
« on: March 15, 2016, 02:52:35 pm »
I notice that just by going to a new page on my forum, around 20-30 credits are used. I thought one credit was used for every advert that would have appeared. We are not a busy forum, and I am sure they didn't get used up at this rate in the past. I would be grateful for some light on this!
