Suggestions / Re: 2 suggestions: censor whitelist and censor override
« on: July 29, 2018, 03:51:58 pm »
I want to second that.
The censor program should check adjacent words before applying the stars. For example, please don't censor 'John Lee Hooker' as that is a famous artist's name and not a word to be censored.

No fear for ddos anymore? ;)

Okay, I changed it.
Why was it altered? I have worked with 64.79.105.158 without any problems until yesterday.

If I surf to http://www.zenaudio.be or http://zenaudio.be, I'm automatically redirected to https:// without any choice in the matter.
Does it have something to do with the ip-address? zenaudio.be is redirected to 64.79.105.158.

The main site is now redirected to https! Not good, since https://zenaudio.be will provide certificates for the domain createaforum.com and browsers will refuse this. So users with browsers like Internet Explorer and Chrome cannot continue.
Can you please restore the original condition to plain http and NO https?

Since this morning, surfing to my createaforum site http://www.zenaudio.be yields:

"Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port.
Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please.
"

Can you fix the problem, please?
Thanks in advance!

My forum is down as well. http://www.zenaudio.be
As I don't have a facebook account, I can't check your status updates there. Facebook doesn't allow people from my country to see content if they're not logged in.
I have thanged the DNS A-record of zenaudio.be to the current ip-address of createaforum.com. When will that need to be changed back to its old address or will you keep the new address?

Layout Settings has three tabs:
1. Manage and Install
2. Theme Configuration
3. Restore Member Options

That 3rd tab has an option to "modify current configuration for all members using this theme"
If I click that, there's another option at the bottom to "never show" Quick Reply in the topic display. Is that what you mean by disable?
I changed that setting to "never show" and saved.
Now the quote works like before!
Thanks!!!

Where can I do that? I can't seem to find an option anywhere to disable quick replies globally...

I have no adblocking plugin in my browser, but I do use the MVPS hosts file. I tried disabling that, but it doesn't change anything. Furthermore, it is not just me. Just about ALL my users report problems with the Quote function and they work with almost every conceivable combination of operating system, browsers and various plugins.

For your information: clicking on the "quick modify" button after one has written a message also shows the white bar with "Loading..." but that disappears after a second or so and then the edtiing window is shown. So why does that work OK and the quote function doesn't?

I still have the problem with the white loading bar at the top that stays indefinitely.
Any suggestions?

I just clicked on Quote to reply to your message and I got the above. It seems to be an error from viglink, but why it only occurs with some clients and not with others?

General Support / Viglink problems?
« on: October 30, 2015, 05:37:29 pm »
Users reported problems when clicking on the "Quote' link. A white bar with 'Loading...' appears at the top of the site and stays there forever. The quoted message followed by waiting cursor to reply is never shown. I myself never experienced this until today. So I clicked on the object inspector to find out who or what the culprint is. It seems to be a call to api.viglink.com when Quote is clicked. Disabling that address with NoScript doesn't help. Enabling it again doesn't help.
It looks like this (everything is in Dutch: Laden means Loading, Citaat means Quote, Reageer means Reply):

As far as I could make out, api.vgilink.com is used to determine if a user clicks on an ad. So why is it called when a user clicks on Quote? Can that be fixed please?
Note: it happens on this forum as well!
