If you open: Admin > Members > Registration > Set reserved names
you can adjust, add or remove any names or symbols you wish to ensure others can't register with (or edit it so they can).

Go to the users profile Then click on Show Permissions
then review the permissions. you can click on the board name on that page and see what permissions they have.

Apparently while they are restricted from viewing other boards etc.,, there are permissions granted under "Given by:  Regular Members, Just joined" on the new board (even though I have it set to 'use unique permissions').
Is it possible to change this please? (I could use step by step instructions, if possible)

Edited to say - I've sorted it, by choosing 'default' for the board instead of 'read only' it reverts to normal restrictions..  Phew! :D

General Support / Restricted member able to Quote/Modify/Remove posts
« on: February 15, 2022, 07:23:04 pm »
I created a board for members put on hold/account closed - only visible if they are in a specific member group with 0 permissions. The only thing they should be able to do is a) view the topic and b) reply to the topic. (they can't see anything else on the forum at all)

However, on using a 'testing account' assigned to that usergroup although all other restrictions work, they can quote, modify or remove posts within the topic, which nobody should be able to do apart from Admin/Mod accounts.

I've checked and triple checked all the settings.. can anyone offer advice please?

Worked on my test site.
If you go back to the old editor. Make sure you see this script loading/not blocked https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js otherwise the emoji picker won't load

Sorry I have no clue about how to see if the script is loading / not blocked.

We were using the standard WYSIWYG built in editor.. and getting nowhere.

Today I changed that to 'Use SCEditor instead for posts' and the emoji dropdown works in that one, strangely.

Don't worry if you are up to your eyes - it's not urgent any longer, we'll manage with this one for now.

Thanks for getting back to me.. take care.

The emoji dropdown isn't working on my forum, nothing happens. It's not disabled under Admin > 'posts and topics'. It's not a pop up issue as it works here. Can anyone help please?

On inspection, this is the error it's giving -  Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined
