Title: Help Please
Post by: ayngel on December 19, 2011, 03:00:45 pm
  Hello,
I really need some help regarding my forum
URL –http://srveterans.createaforum.com/index.php
As of today there has been a swear filter (censor) on my forum, which I never placed.  When I go to the settings it does not show that this has been activated. Can someone advice me on how to remove this from my Forum.

Thank you

We have a built anti swear system that activates when their are no ad credits on the forum in order to protect our advertisers. To remove the swear filter ad free credits need to be added.

I see ads on the forum. We have a trial period of 45 days of no ads.

Near the top.... If you are using ad blocking they won't show up :(....

Any chance of loosening what is censored. It's a little overkill and I'm not the only one that thinks this. We talk a lot about music and movies and it seems like every other word is censored.

Example of music related topics, we talk about John Lee H**ker and Joe C*cker and their entire last names are censored. This doesn't help foster open dialog about something as simple as these cats when this happens. It's too restrictive.

Also, I do a lot of book reviews and one of the books was Nikki Sixx: The Hero*n Diaries. I think you get the idea of what I'm trying to point out.

Any chance of revisiting this? Where I live there is a street called Th*rnydale (asterisk represents an "O") I never knew H-O-R-N-Y was considered a dirty word. Also, in no way is this intended as being the censored word. It is a name of a street.
