Title: How do I know if someone has registered to join my private forum?
Post by: Anska on March 25, 2021, 09:09:06 pm
Sorry, I've searched and searched but this is too simple? Newbie alert.

Anyway, I've set up a forum https://vhemfs.createaforum.com/
It's all set to private.

As a test, I tried to register to join my own forum as someone else (called Jimbo) using a different email to mine. Registration was successful and "Jimbo" has had an email to say his registration is being considered by the admin. All good.

However, how do I, as an admin, find out he's asked to register?
Is there somewhere I should tell my admin page to send me an email?If not, is there somewhere on the site that tells me someone has tried to register?How do I accept "Jimbo" onto the forum?

Help please! Thanks

ThanksAnnie

Thank you.

(Admin -> Registration -> Settings
Notify administrators when a new member joins)
I had this ticked before "Jimbo" registered but I've not had an admin email notification to say he's asked to join. Have I done something wrong?

(To approve members visit
Admin -> Members -> Awaiting Activiation)
Great - I can now see that he's waiting for approval now.

Can you help with the first issue - I need an email if people want to join. ThanksAnnie

Okay! I discovered that I'd not put "allow users to email me" as checked. That's now working. Thanks
