Hello,
Our forum that we are using as our school portal is working fine except the students can not send messages to their teachers as a personal message. The "My Messages" is not showing on their tool bar at the top of the page. Is there a permission that needs changing and if so please indicate the path to find it.

Yes it is a permission you need to do for each memebergroup under.
Admin -> Permissions
Then under "Contact members using the personal messaging system" check the pm permissions.

Thank you for the reply but, I can not find that tab or check box phrase you mentioned.
Admin>permissions>modify membergroup.... this shows general permissions but I do not see the phrase you are refering to.

You might be using a different view near the top of the page
Change View: *Simple | Classic
If on the other view it is found on the bottom right side of the screen.

Fixed the problem. The PM check box does not exist for guests, I did not find this as a check box for regular members. Unfortunately I had all members as guests with very limited permissions. The board is for students at our school. I copied the permissions for the guest to regular members then added the personal messaging option through the advanced option drop down menues, then moved the permissions in the membergroups based on regular members..... It worked.

Ah good to know.Glad that you figured it out. That makes sense for a school environment.
