Title: Guests registering for an account on the forum
Post by: Jim Dale on July 23, 2019, 02:36:35 am
Hi,
When checking Who's Online, there are literally always 'Guests registering for an account on the forum' as can be seen in the screen shot below, but they never do register.
Are we correct in thinking that these are only bots or whatever and they can't make it past the captcha? Is it possible they could be bona fide people trying to join our forum?

As stated, they are always there and can be upwards sometimes of 8 - 12 at a time.

Probably not. Most of them are probably search engines or bots.

I've been watching Who's Online here and I haven't seen 'Guests registering for an account on the forum' ever. I see guests here reading topics.
Is it good to let some bots through so that pages get indexed?

Yes it is. You do not want to ban them.
