Title: Help on some settings
Post by: jcrossas on February 06, 2017, 03:23:17 pm
Hello guys,

I need some help setting up my forum. I searched trought the forum but I wasn't able to find the answers I need. If they are already around, i'm sorry! So here it goes:

1) How do I remove/disable the "Messages" feature from my forum?

2) How can I edit the post ratings options? I just want the Like and Dislike button.

3) Being an administrator or moderator, how can I put them "out" of the post count based groups? I just want post count based groups to take effect on regular members.
Here I found this http://cfcoding.createaforum.com/create-a-forum-codes/(codecss)-remove-'post-group'-for-admins-and/ (http://cfcoding.createaforum.com/create-a-forum-codes/(codecss)-remove-'post-group'-for-admins-and/)
Where should I put this code? It says anywhere, but..where?

4) When hidding topics from the "guests" the last topics of each board don't save without the "guest" marked as checked. Why is that?

5) Is there any way to change just the menu bar and to make similar to the one you use in this forum?

6) How do I edit the "agreement terms" to register in forum?

7) How do I edit the e-mail text that is sent to confirm the registration?

I know it's a lot guys but I would really appreciate your help!

Thank you!

Cheers support

 1. I believe you can do with admin -> permissions. Just remove each membergroup the permission to send/receive personal messages.
 2. At the moment we do not have the option to do that.
3. Admin -> Layout Settings -> Them Settings ->  "Hide post group titles for grouped members:"
4. Not sure what that means
5. By default all forums should have the same type of menu bar created with createaforum
6. Admin -> Registration -> Registration Agreement

7. Not possible

Thank you.

Let me tell you I bought the portuguese language pack and it works fine!support

About your answers:

1. Didn't work. I disable it and it's still there. Any suggestion?
3. Fixed
4. Please check the following link: https://upimagens.com/di/0Q5K/Sem_Título-1.jpg (https://upimagens.com/di/0Q5K/Sem_Título-1.jpg)
5. Ok, but do you know if it is possible to change the font and icons of the menu bar? How do I do that? Modifying style in style manager?
6. Fixed

One more question:

When I activate the quick reply feature, everytime someone wants to quote, the quote will go directly into the quickreply. For example, if the quickreply is hidden, the quote will go there anyway and I don't see it (because it's hidden). Is there any way to keep the quickreply option to be hidden or visible but force the quote into the reply "normal" page?

1. Check as a normal user create an account. Admin's might still be able to see it but normal users no.

5. Yes with the style manager you can edit the full css change fonts and colors etc.

Not at the moment. You can disable quick reply under
Admin -> Layout Settings -> Reset Options

Then reset the default options and member options there is a quickreply setting

1. Still there even with a regular member account and with those features disabled.

5. Done

About the quick reply I think that's a huge inconvenient. I mean, in order to the quotes work properly we need to disable the Quick Reply. I use the quickreply but I can't make it available, otherwise some members that don't use it will try to quote and nothing happens as the quote is in the hidden quickreply field. There's no way to solve this?

Did you check the image I uploaded? Just to get things ready to go

Thank you for your kind support

Just did a test for #1
If you remove these permissions from the membergroup
Read personal messages
Send personal messages

The MyMessages button goes away in the menu

Yes, done. I found out that the problem was with the post counted members.

Messages are OK too.

If you could check that quick reply feature that would be great

Thanks once again !

I just need the "Like/dislike" buttons to get my forum going at 100%. So basically I want to hidden all the other options (agree / disagree and so on).

Is there any chance?

Thank you once again!

Would be harder for me to do. I use one set of reactions for all forums.

Thank you very much for your help!

Btw, and sorry to bother again, I have some more basic questions.

1) Since I have the portuguese language on the forum, is it possible to make those buttons portuguese?
(Like = Gosto , Dislike = Não Gosto , Undo Rating = Anular Classificação , View List = Ver Lista)

2) Is it possible to make it work on tapatalk? (the like/dislike feature)

3) How can I change the members name colour on the topics? (not on the online members list)

4) How to add registration date to the members profile in topics?

Thank you.

(Awsome customer care so far!)

1.  Not at the moment

2. No tapatalk would have to add it.

3. No way to do it that is built in. Some people have used some custom javascript/jquery codes.

4. Use Custom Profiles turn on under Core Features then under edit features and options set it up.

On point 4. it's supposed to be here:
Administration Center » Features and Options » Profile Fields ?

Any idea what should I write? :/
Title: Re: Help on some settings

Write for?

On the Standard Profile Fields it doesn't have the registration date, so I believe I need to create a New Field
on Custom Profile Fields.

Inside Custom Profile Fields it doesn't have nothing about registration date so what should I do there?

Plus, I made "active" the location but it still doesn't show location on profiles.

Thanks

There is no option for registration date to display.

Location will only appear if the user entered their location under their profile settings

And is there any chance of add it? (the registration date?)

About the Location I added my location to the profile settings and doesn't show anything on topics..

Kind regards

We are having encoding issues on Tapatalk. See attachment.

I'm wondering if this is related with the encoding on the database or the charset used on the forum (<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">). Can you help us with this please?

What about tapatalk issues?

Any chance of adding the registration date to the fields? Since almost all the forums have it.

Tapatalk will have to look into. Might require some changes.

Date registration again what do you need it to do?

I need the profiles to show the registration date in topics (similar do the Location).
