Title: Subdomain Created in GoDaddy Keeps Re-Routing to Main Domain
Post by: Forum-Creator on February 24, 2016, 04:00:12 pm
Hello, I have a subdomain linked to my forum. I competed the verification process to link my subdomain from GoDaddy to my forum. When I click any of the links on my forum, the Home Link, Search Link, Calendar, Login or Register link, the links keep re-routing to my main domain instead of staying on my forum site. Because the links keep re-routing, right now I'm unable to login to my forum to make any updates, nor can anyone register.

Help,
R. Freeman

Give it about 24 hours if you just made the dns change

I added the NS1 & NS2 name servers for createaforum to GoDaddy, and set my GoDaddy subdomain to forward to my forum's domain. Is there anything else I need to do?

I woudn't do the nameservers..... Since you are using a subdomain. Nameservers are only for the primary domain.

Your domain was working fine for me with no changes....

If I keep the name servers there, will that effect the time it will take for my forum to work properly?

Each change normally makes it take another 24 hours to 48 hours. Since the ttl records are not set so takes a while for other providers to catch up.

About an hour ago it was working fine. Now it's not working again and keeps re-looping to the main domain. Hopefully it will function properly before this evening.

My subdomain worked last night for close to an hour and I was able to login, and then about 40 - 50 minutes later it started re-routing again to the main domain.

Hmm, on my system it's still re-routing to the main domain. Is there anything else I need to do, or will I just have to wait it out until tomorrow afternoon or evening?

It's been a few days, it's still not working properly. I'm currently in Firefox as well, and it keeps looping back to the main domain.

From my e-mail I clicked my forum's link, it re-looped to this link instead of the actual forum.evolvedlove.org:

Disregard old emails. They won't work.
New emails going forward will have the new link.

The e-mail link I tried is recent from 20 minutes ago, the link that came through via e-mail when you just signed up:

http://forum.evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new (http://forum.evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new)

Keeps re-looping to this:

Not setting that on my end on firefox or chrome. If I copy and paste in the address bar
http://forum.evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new

It stays on the same url http://forum.evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new

With every computer in my home, it's re-looping to http://evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new (http://evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new)

With Internet Explorer it's even re-looping to http://evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new (http://evolvedlove.org/general-discussion/welcome-to-evolved-love-forum/new/?topicseen#new)

How do I fix this?

I don't know. You might need to go back to a normal createaforum subdomain in that case. It sounds like a networking issue somewhere.

Even when I use the default domain http://evolvedlove.createaforum.com/

When I click any of the links on my forum, the Home Link, Search Link, Calendar, Login or Register link, the links keep re-routing to my main domain instead of staying on my forum site. I'm back at square one and unable to login to my forum to make any updates, nor can anyone register.

I was able to register....  I will take your domain off the forum now...
I tested on four different computers in three different locations on three different browsers.
