Title: DNS Hijack by Syrian Electronic Army
Post by: banquo on December 12, 2014, 02:27:17 pm
Over the past couple of weeks, at least two of my forum members have been unable to reach the forum because of DNS hijacking by the so-called Syrian Electronic Army.
I know nothing about this kind of hijack, and I'm not sure where in the routing that the hijack occurs.
Is this something you are aware of, and is there something at your end that can be done to stop it?

I've been reading about it here (http://resources.infosecinstitute.com/stop-dns-hijacking/), but it might as well be in Swahili for all the chance I have of understanding it... :-[
Is the problem with the users' ISP or somewhere else?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply.
The most recent event was today, so sounds like there's still a problem?

If it is it might an ISP problem or cachcing issue. Gigya is a service that we don't control or run. If they are using the social networking option.

Thanks. I've pointed them towards their ISP, and some of the setting tips in the link I posted.
If it's nothing at createaforum.com's end, that's all that matters I guess!  ;)
