is there a way to just change something in SMFforfree codes so they work on createaforum forums?

You could convert styles, I suppose, but it would be quite a challenge. The CSS for SMFForFree (SMF 1.1) is MUCH different than that of CreateAForum (SMF 2.0).

Everything is different about it, so unless you have a lot of time and patience on your hands you may run into some trouble. ;)
