Title: checking who registers

Is it possible to get people to give a bit more information when signing up
the sort of thing we are after is peoples postcode, just to ensure that they are from the local area
this could either be entered in an address section or a tell us why you want to join box which specifies the need for postcode
 
I've been searching this forum but not found the answer yet, although i've found the answers to other questions i didn't realise i had yet, so thanks for all the help

Yes you can with custom profile fields.

You have to turn them on under Core Features

Then they appear under Edit Features and Options
