Title: Board Moderators
Post by: SwellGals on March 28, 2012, 10:07:18 am
I am thinking about having a couple of my members also acting as Moderators on a specific board on my forum. If I install someone as a moderator, will all posts to this board have to be approved through the Moderation Centre? or does making someone a Moderator only give them access to review post through the Mod Centre as well as Add / Modify posts?

Giving them Board Moderator access doesn't give them access to the Moderator Center, not does it mean that all posts must be approved in that board first.

If you want to give them Moderator Center access, you will need to make them a Global Moderator.

If you want posts to be approved by a moderator first, there is a setting for that under Admin -> Boards.

Thanks Andrew - so if you make someone a moderator and they don't have access to the Moderation Centre what can actually do that they couldn't already do as a member - just delete or modify posts?

basically they only get moderator privileges for the specified board only.

I realise that it is only for the specific board - what are the pre-determined moderator privileges? Is it just the option to delete or modify a post?

OK, I have played around a bit more and have managed to answer my own question - have been so used to restrictive blogs and other platforms that I'm not used to having all these extra options available to individualise it! Thanks all for your patience and help...
