Where To Post XML Sitemap
« on: July 31, 2022, 04:44:42 pm »
Hello,
I can't seem to get Search Engines (Google/DuckDuckGo/etc) results beyond entering the full URL, and the URL only. I have generated a full Sitemap using "XML-sitemaps.com," But if I post it in the Header section, it displays the code on the Home Page at the top. (Google Analytics gives me an HTML error.) I start the Sitemap with:

<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9 http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/sitemap.xsd">

And end with:
</urlset>

Your forum is too new with not enough content to get indexed well.

We do have a built in sitemap which can be found for yours at https://morenorthamericanrr2t.createaforum.com/index.php?action=sitemap;xml=1
You can submit it. We auto submit forums with over 100 posts.

Thank you for the information! The Sitemap you generated is much like the one I generated - the code is almost identical.
With the limited viewership of MNARRTS (the site I cloned, "North American Two Strokes" which unexpectedly closed), 100 posts will happen given time, but orphaned members will have to find it first.

If I may ask one more question, where on the Google Console would I post the Sitemap? All I could come up with is that I had to post it at a location on 'morenorthamericanrr2t.createaforum.com,' submit the location, and Google would take it from there.

Thanks again!
Warren

You would put just this in for the sitemap url /index.php?action=sitemap;xml=1  you might need to take out the /

Hello,

I've been trying since my last post in July and still get only 1 search result on Google, and only when I search on the name of the site "More North American Road Racing Two-Strokes." I do get results on DuckDuckGo and Bing.

When I search Sitemap (createaforum.com)
http://yourself.createaforum.com/index.php?action=sitemap
it shows all the Boards, Topics, Subjects, and posts, and Google Analytics show the site has been Successfully Crawled (with errors) every day or two, but still no results to any searches.

Is my Sitemap trash to google or are they just being stubborn?  Did I screw up the settings? Can I fix it? (I can't seem to update my sitemap with one I generated on pro-sitemaps; it is quite different) I have spent many many hours trying everything, and get nowhere.

Thanks,
Warren
