Timed Post Warning
« on: September 23, 2011, 01:07:59 pm »
Is there a way to set the time for Posting? Sometimes when posting in a existing thread, it may take a while to type something that is rather long, like a few minutes. And then when I go to click send/post, I get a Red Message Warning saying I have timed out. I know that I can just hit send again without losing any of the post.

But there are other people on the forum that want this changed because their initial reaction is that they have lost the entire post and start over.

So, I'd like to set a longer time frame to avoid that message again, or do away with it all together.

It has to do with "sessions"   You can change the session time in Admin > Forum Settings > Cookies and Sessions
Change the number in "Seconds before an unused session timeout" to a higher number.

This doesn't work. I've tried using 20000, 50000 and even 100000 seconds and it still times out after 3-4 minutes. I've also tried it with 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000.
