SSL purchase redirect failing
« on: January 14, 2021, 05:45:32 am »
Trying to renew our forum's SSL cert. The redirect to PayPal doesn't allow me to update any of the fields.

To be accurate I can purchase a 1 or 2 year cert but 3 and 4 years don't work. Since it's available from the dropdown: WTF?
This is from upgrades.php.

Also, is there any issues with SSL? We have a member who is validated but, despite being logged in, only sees items with "Guest" access.

What is the forum url?

SSL works for nearly everyone unless you are on ancient computer systems such as Windows XP or very old smart phones.

Forum URL: https://oldcws.createaforum.com/upgrades.php
Tried using Chrome and Firefox on Unbuntu 20.04, and Firefox and Safari on OS X 11.1 (Big Sur).
As I said: the 1 & 2 year options populate, not the 3 or 4 year options.

Order instead from Admin -> Domain Manager near the bottom

I have to remove that option. on that page since SSL no longer supports registering longer than one year at  a time.

Thanks!
I must admit I thought you had a back-end process to for longer term SSL certs.
I'm waiting for the NS record updates. We've had a DNS registration for years, with NameCheap.com. It may take 48 hours to be active.
I tried "parking" oldcws.org but it failed. Probably because the NS records still point to NameCheap.
I'll renew the SSL cert when it goes live. I'm assuming https://oldcws.createaforum.com will still work for the people who've used it for the last 5 years.
Now to find out why our newest member only sees the "guest" only pages despite being logged in

The industry changed after I think apple or google said they would not longer accept longer certificates in their browsers.

Thanks. Sorry for the extra work.

My NS records now use createaforum.com and I've purchased the SSL cert.
So I just have to wait for the cert to be in place and www.oldcws.org should have SSL support again!

Now, for a new issue in a new topic!
