Conflict between a forum and a domain
« on: December 04, 2014, 06:15:56 pm »
Hi

I and my friend were going to establish a scientific forum for students. He created ite.createaforum.com and I, accidentally, created iterm.createaforum.com. When I was checking the pros and cons, he designed his forum and bought a domain, www.iterm.ir.

I thought that I can delete mine like some other forums if it is'nt useful or required.

Recently, my friend sent me an email: the official domain (www.iterm.ir) is faced with some problem via the same sub-domain in CreateAForum that established by me and I have to try to delete the iterm.createaforum.com from CreateAForum server.

Until Dec,3, 2014, "ite" worked successfully and some students were registered. From today (Dec, 4, 2014) it can be explored but when anybody wants to register or login, progress is frozen because of redirecting to www.iterm.ir.

I thought we have two solutions:
  • Changing my forum address.
  • Removing my forum completely.
CreateAForum replied to my email about solution 1 and rejected it.

I searched "Support Forum" for solution 2 and found some points:
  • Deleting a forum by CreateAForum is not possible as a result of security reasons.
  • Forums are deleted every couple months if they are inactive.
  • If all posts are deleted and forum goes under maintenance for a long time, it will be deleted automatically the next time the server runs maintenance.
Is conflict between my forum address and "www.iterm.ir" valid?
What's your idea to solve the problem soon?

Establishing the forum is emergency and we cannot wait for a long time.

My forum is not required and I think that CreateAForum has to find a solution to overcome probable security problems, for examples certification via two different email address that forum admin gives during forum creation.

Thanks
