Restore a backup from old forum

I have the free standard forum. Can I restore a backup from a SMF site I used to host elsewhere?

Possibly would need to SMF 2.0.x andneed .sql file would overwrite your current forum.

I have the tar.gz backup file ... and I believe it was SMF 2.0, it was only backed up in October so if that was the current version at the time it is what I had.
