They would need to host the images on an image hosting site then link to them.

Could you not use the gallery system as that creates link text like

Is it at all possible that the forum software could be changed to allow adding an image to a PM as easy as it is in adding one in a forum post?


For a hobby forum, being able to easily add a photo to a PM is a very handy thing to be able to do.


It would be terrific if it was made possible.

Most likely no.  Raises other issues with content checking over pms/storage space for forum.
If I would to be added would require a large cost to add to the forum system.
