Is there a way to copy sub categories into a new category?

I have about 32 sub categories that I want to copy into multiple categories.  Its a real pain to individual retype each child category into the main category so I'm wondering if their is a more efficient way to do so.  Thanks in advance!

There is no way to do it you would need to create each subcategory again.
