Birthday Wishes

On other forums, they usually give out Birthday wishes by creating a thread on the day there happens to be a Birthday. So, how do I set something up like this so I know who's and when's birthday it is? Is it marked on the calender? And how do I get the calendar up top on home index page? I have it activated but it's not showing at all.  ???

Never mind. Figured it out and I needed to close out the browser for it to take.
