Forum says 'You are Banned'

One of our members cannot log in, he gets a 'You are Banned' message. He has emailed me for help and I have looked at the ban list in admin, but his username isn't there. I certainly haven't banned him, so I can't un-ban him! I can't see that it is a problem with his computer and wonder if you have any ideas or how we can get him back on the forum. Any help would be appreciated.

He has cleared his cookies as I suggested and he is now back in the room. I'll leave this post up in case anyone else has the same problem.

Not sure as not on pc but does the ban system also use IP addresses

If you have that make sure that their ip address isn't banned.
