Custom Icon issue
« on: April 16, 2013, 10:55:34 am »
Anyone know what causes this ? Been happening off and on for a while now. Clearing Cache doesn't fix it. I'm wondering why it only happens on a single category and not the rest, is it a known bug ?

You might have a custom board icon set. When add/edit the board you have an option to upload a custom board icon.

No custom board icon set, just checked.

The yellow bulbs are a custom (new posts) Icon

The American Eagle is the default (new posts) Icon

Only on this particular category it is happening.

Check under Manage Styles- > Customize Images

The custom icon (set in customize images) is working fine for every other category. That isn't what's causing the problem

I am not sure what it is then. Those are the two spots: customize images, and custom icon on board.

It has to be a bug, nothing else makes sense. Everything is configured correctly (and there is no custom board icon set) otherwise the problem would be visible on all boards.

Perhaps you can pass this on to Simple Machines developers ?

No since we have our own system different than SMF doesn't use the same features more based on ezForum than SMF at this point.

If the eagle is the icon for new posts, then there's a post that you haven't read in that board. Looking at the image provided, there's a new icon for the child board which indicates an unread post
All codes I make are tested on the latest version of Google Chrome and upon request of other browsers.

No the light is the icon for new posts. The Eagle was the default new posts icon which I replaced with the the light.

Might I suggest you look here:

http://support.createaforum.com/5/

Using JSquery coding, you can force any image to become another image with only a couple easy steps.  ;D

After some research, I have found out that when new posts are made in a child board, A different icon is used which is slightly different to the new posts icon of the parent board.

This explains why the icon is incorrect. Now all to do is find out exactly 'Which' icon I have to change to the icon I need.

Thanks for your suggestion but that isn't the solution to my problem.
