Anti-Spam Post count will not change
« on: March 05, 2020, 06:15:10 pm »
I am seeing an influx of spam accounts on my forums. To combat this I am trying to add that new registrants must pass verification for their first 5 posts. However, when I change the number from 0 to 5 it refuses to save the changes. Furthermore, when I try to change the number of verification questions to be asked from 0 to 1 it refuses to save that as well. Is this a known problem? or am I dumb and doing something wrong?

Thanks for the quick reply. Here is a screen shot of the page and sections I am having trouble changing in order to fight the new spam.

Ah... there is my problem. I thought it meant how many times a person would need to answer the picture verification before they could post. I am not trying to have them answer questions, but I suppose it would be more effective than nothing. The spam has gotten bad over the last few weeks.

What domains/ips are spammers coming from such as emails?
I can block them system wide.

They appear to be @gmail.com accounts. I think I need to simply manually authorize each new registrant. We dont get so many that this will be a burden.
