looking for a guide to Modifying the forum

Hello, i just created my forum, and i have been looking for a guide to personalize it, where can i find one? and btw, this is going to be a forum for an alliance, and i want there to be a way to vote on things as well as create 4 levels of member accounts, based on their rank in the alliance. i would also like it to be an invite only kind of forum.
