JavaScript Hosting?
« on: April 06, 2013, 02:15:16 am »
Okay.
I wanted to know if it was possible to host JavaScript files on CAF. I really need to get a file hosted, but I have no idea where. Any clue how or where to host it?
Thanks,
abugbeary

Why would you want to host a javascript file?
Anyways, you can attach the file to a post and link it from there.
All codes I make are tested on the latest version of Google Chrome and upon request of other browsers.

Because I am in the process of coding a randomized character creator, that requires JS.  I had already tried to attach it, but it told me that '.js' files were not allowed.

There's no need to actually host the file. Go to your admin cp and somewhere under the attachment settings, allow .js files

The attachment has to be on a post where guests can view and download it.

If I try to download the attachment, it says access is denied so you need to set permissions to allow guests to download attachments.

It is not working as a JavaScript file, and the permission was changed. You should be able to see it now.

Even if the file was visible, would it work as a JavaScript file?

It pretty sure it will work, you can easily test it yourself.
