Personally I don't see a need for it. If you want to save notes for yourself, you could always use a notepad program on your PC. There is one built in to every computer. ;)

Where, not sure, maybe the profile... For the purpose, it could be used for saving post drafts, threads you want to remember to reply to, or anything that you have on your mind.
