Meta desctiption/title
« on: June 12, 2012, 12:23:28 am »
Would like to have the option to add meta description/tile for at least forum homepage.   Engines arent using keywords anymore for rankings due to abuse.  Meta description/tile will really benefit our forums.

thanks

You can already use Meta Tags for your forums by going to your headers and footers, the last textarea box is the place to put it.
All codes I make are tested on the latest version of Google Chrome and upon request of other browsers.

Please may I ask,..What are meta tags?
Nothing gets higher than where God dwells. If there is an upper limit to the universe, call it the abode of God

They're information for search engine bots to use for your website on their search engine. For an example, the title of website, description, etc.
Here's some I grabbed off w3schools:
Code: [Select]
<meta name="description" content="Free Web tutorials" />
<meta name="keywords" content="HTML,CSS,XML,JavaScript" />
<meta name="author" content="Hege Refsnes" />
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8" />
All codes I make are tested on the latest version of Google Chrome and upon request of other browsers.

thanks, Xboi

I forgot the meta tag box was down there.  Should we enclose it in head tags or are they already programmed?

thanks
