Hi, I was wondering, I made a new group on my website. I edited the permissions and all of that, but when I go to "View The Memberlist", it lists me as a "Newbie". I know that's based on my posts, which is under 50. How do I change it so that it views me as my new group? I also wanted to make a new default group. Like, when you sign in for the first time, this is the group you're in. How do I do both?

First one
   Admin -> Layout Settings -> Theme settings
   then check "Hide post group titles for grouped members"

Alright, but how do I set a default group? I made the group, but how do I make it the default group?

you have to edit the "Newbie" permission to the new group that you have created.

@mr.brain That is unclear. If you could please explain in more detail, that would be excellent. Maybe show some pictures, or video, or just explain it better. Please and thank you.

Go to Admin => Membergroups.

1. Add a Group to (Regular groups) and set it permissions to your desire. i.e NEWBIE

2. Now Add a Group to (Post count based groups) i.e NEW MEMBER.

3. After that, modify the NEW MEMBER group with the below infos;
- Required posts: 0
- Visible Boards: (select them)
- Inherit Permissions: Inherit from: NEWBIE

etc. Done

hope you understand me now?

@mr.brain Yes, but as shown above, I still need to figure out how to hide post based groups.

am talking of your 2nd request which is  '' I also wanted to make
a new default group. Like, when you sign in for the
first time, this is the group you're in. How do I do
both?''

then for your 1st request

go to  Administration Center » Layout Settings » Theme Settings

then scrol down and enable Hide post group titles for grouped members.

Enabling this will not display a
member's post group title on the
message view if they are assigned to a
non-post based group.
